What a terrific facility for homeless cats. They have a huge fenced in yard with trees that is attached to a former guest house. The guest house is now used as indoor space for the cats. They can come and go as they please. Daren Watson is the angel that provides the home and care for these kitties as they await a forever home. She knows all 60 to 70 cats by name and their personalities and temperament. It is such a great way to meet and interact with a possible adoptive cat. I will never go to a shelter again where the animals are visible only in a cage. We adopted little Abby. Actually, she choose us. She greeted us at the gate and followed us throughout the shelter as we met other cats. Wonderful experience!!!!!!!

Whiskers Animal Rescue and Sanctuary is the best place to adopt a cat. They are all rescues and are taken care of by the most incredible person, Daren Watson. She gives her heart and soul to the cats and they are well taken care of.

I reached out to them after my mother passed for help with rehoming her cats. While they did not have space, they shared my posts and got my needs circulated on social media. With their help, I’ve been able to place 2 cats so far. They are amazing in every way.

Whiskers Animal rescue and Sanctuary is amazing. Daren, with a few volunteers keeps 100 cats happy, healthy, vetted and fed. The cats all have freedom to go in and outside with a kitty fence to keep them safe. Daren is the cat whisperer and guardian angel to these cats till they find their forever homes. The only time a cat is in a crate is due to recuperating from surgery, medical issue or needs to be quarantined for observation. Her volunteers keep the place spotless and the cats are happy. Daren goes over and beyond to help kittens, trap cats and help others. If you are looking for a worthy rescue to donate your time or money to, Whiskers Animal Rescue and Sanctuary is it.

I give this rescue a 10 out of 10!! Everyone was so responsive and the process was not stressful! The foster mom for our kitten was absolutely wonderful. She took the best care of her and you can tell everyone truly loves these kitties. Highly recommend!!

We adopted from this rescue two years ago. Daren and her volunteers were amazing helping us find just the right cat. It amazed us how many cats they care for and how clean and well cared for each cat was. And they all had names and she knew all their needs and personalities. I highly recommend them and encourage any donations whether it be food, cat towers, supplies or monetary.

Great place to adopt from! Real dedication here, I received a phone call in less than an hour after filling out the application and was able to pick up my new baby the very same day! WARS is a wonderful place to find a cat companion. Cats mature or recuperate with the hope of a new start. Cats are free roaming and are free to lounge outside or on a cat tree inside. I love it here.

Daren Watson and her small team of volunteers are amazing in all that they do to rescue, care for and find homes for so many abandoned and abused cats. My wife and I adopted our cat there 4 years ago. We have become true supporters of the Sanctuary. If you are looking to adopt a cat or cats, be sure to visit here. It is a “feel good” experience. No stacks of cages with sad looking cats here!

We traveled from Wilmington to adopt our sweet Lumina from WARS with the help of Daren and her team! The process was so easy and allowed us to spend quality time with each kitty, leading us to connect with Lumina and bring her to her forever home❤️ Can’t recommend WARS enough!

A beautiful place that takes wonderful care of each animal, and does everything they can to find the perfect match for everyone! I’m so thankful to them. Kind staff, a literal kitty palace, and some of the most loved kitties I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting!

Let me tell you, this rescue is absolutely AMAZING!!! They went out of their way to help me and the sweetest cat that I had found. I reached out to every rescue in this county and Whiskers Animal Rescue was the only one that threw me a lifeline. I completely understand every rescue is over capacity and absolutely drowning so I greatly appreciate their willingness to help in such desperate times. Not only did they continuously post about Charlie (the cat I found), they also so graciously provided the needed medication for Charlie’s ear infection. The posts they made for Charlie on their page led him to finding the absolutely perfect forever home where he is safe, happy and out of the cold weather. This rescue truly cares and goes out of their way to help animals in need. I could not be more grateful or thankful for this incredible rescue. Thank you Whiskers for all you do for our community.

Daren and the Volunteers do a phenomenal job with these kittens/cats! They take them in and get them help they may need and nurture them back to health and get many of them adopted out to their fur-ever homes. I adopted a brother & sister duo who were tossed out at a local recycling center. Now they will live out the rest of their lives in a warm home with plenty of toys and food with no worries!
